\r\n\r\n Use this tool to explore how rising sea levels will affect roads in\r\n coastal cities and towns, see where road networks will be inaccessible to\r\n emergency responders, and how that relates to the overall social\r\n vulnerability of the community.\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n Sea Level Rise Prediction\r\n \r\n Seal Level Rise: This dataset approximates the inland extent of\r\n several scenarios (1, 2, 3.3 or 6 feet) of sea level rise or storm\r\n surge along the Maine coastline on top of the 2015 Highest Annual\r\n Tide, or HAT. That HAT layer displays the maximum predicted\r\n astronomical high tide for 2015. The data were developed using a\r\n static (“bathtub”) inundation model that uses LiDAR topographic\r\n data as a base digital elevation model, and first adjusts HAT\r\n tidal predictions to take into account variability in the water\r\n surface elevations along the Maine coastline, and then adds\r\n scenarios of 1, 2, 3.3, and 6 feet of either storm surge or sea\r\n level rise to that initial starting elevation. The primary purpose\r\n of these data is to help inform storm surge and sea level rise\r\n vulnerability assessments.
